Francesco Zizola will be at the festival!

We are happy to announce that Francesco Zizola is the fourth photographer to accept our invitation to the 5th LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism. The Italian photographer studied Anthropology before he started his career as a professional photographer in 1981. His most well known work is the book “Born somewhere” – the product of 13 years of work focusing on the living conditions of children around the globe, photographed in 28 countries. Francesco Zizola, who lives in Rome, won numerous awards and prizes with his work, including a World Press Photo Award in 1996 for his story about landmines in Angola. He won nine more prizes at the World Press Photo Awards and four Picture of the Year Awards. He published five books. And in 2006 the Italian director Liliana Ginanneschi directed the documentary “Sensitive Eye” about him and his work. In 2007 Zizola established the multipurpose center 10b Photography, which runs a gallery and a photographic laboratory in Rome, Italy. He is a founding member of the well-known agency NOOR.
