After the successful integration of an outdoor exhibition at the last festival, we want to renew and expand the festival concept once again this year. We will introduce a Container Village on the festival grounds. This will give magazines, newspapers, institutions, collectives and projects the chance to present themselves and their work and to network with our visitors. The centre of the village will be an open stage where the villagers can present their work and organize discussions, workshops and artist talks to explore the future of our branch. The first villagers have been determined: Along with Cameo Magazine, the LUMIX Festival will finance a container to present photo projects from and with refugees. Besides the exhibition, we will invite the photographers to talk about their work and their experiences in order to enable a shift of perspectives which is often missing in the mainstream media.
The following institutions will be represented with a container as well:
University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hannover, Photojournalism Study Program
University of Applied Sciences and Arts Bielefeld, Photography Study Program
University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund, Photography Study Program
Danish School of Media and Journalism
Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung
World Press Photo Foundation.
We will keep this list updated and inform about the program soon.
